This powerful truck is built for off-road adventures with features such as a 33.8-degree approach, 25.7-degree departure, and 23.5-degree breakover angle. With ample cameras available, you can see every challenge on the road and approach your trail with unparalleled expertise. From the bold styling to the impressive durability, the Toyota Tacoma is fully equipped to take on anything. This is the powerhouse you want in your garage, as it’ll make any venture possible.

A Workhorse With Versatile Trims

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is available in eight distinct trims. With this wealth of options, you can tailor your purchase to meet your personal needs.

Trailhunter

The Tacoma Trailhunter debuts in 2024, offering a suite of rugged features designed to help you conquer and explore. This trim comes standard with off-road equipment such as frame-mounted rock rails and steel skid plates to protect the transmission, front end, and rear differential. You can set the perfect mood for your adventures with an integrated waterproof and dustproof JBL Flex portable speaker that sits right in the dash.

The Trailhunter features Old Man Emu 2.5-inch forged monotube position-sensitive shocks that are tailored specifically for off-road control and an impressive load-carrying capacity. The Trailhunter is available with a 5- or 6-foot bed and an ARB sport bar. This trim also features a larger upgraded front and rear brake package.

TRD Pro

The TRD Pro is built for speed. Equipped to perform like a powerful dune racer, it features 2.5-inch Fox internal bypass QS3 shocks complete with oversize shock shafts as well as rear piggyback-style remote reservoirs. This Tacoma is built to tackle off-road challenges with a high-clearance front bumper. The ARB steel rear bumper is equipped with recovery hooks so you can tow others out of trouble.

In the cab, you’ll find IsoDynamic Performance Seats that feature a dampening system for a smooth ride. The seats come equipped with both upper and lower pressure gauges to help cushion you from every bump.

Limited

The Limited is an upper-level trim with a well-rounded suite of features, including a 14-inch infotainment system and head-up display. This Tacoma has an adaptive variable suspension. Chrome accents provide sleek styling and coordinate perfectly with the 18-inch chrome-finished alloy wheels.

TRD Off-Road

You can enjoy extra control when off-roading in the TRD Off-Road, equipped with multi-terrain select and crawl control. This Tacoma has Bilstein monotube shocks with remote reservoirs. Available features include a front stabilizer bar disconnect, 33-inch tires, and a six-speed manual transmission.

TRD Sport

The TRD Sport features a sport-tuned suspension that sets it apart from the other trims. Its powerful appearance includes a mesh grille, black exterior badges, and 18-inch Toyota Racing Development (TRD) alloy wheels.

TRD PreRunner

The TRD PreRunner puts utility first with its 6-foot bed and ample rear storage. Notable features include the electronically controlled locking rear differential, front lift, and leaf spring rear suspension. The PreRunner rolls out on 17-inch TRD alloy wheels.

SR5

Just one step above the base trim, the SR5 is available as a double cab with coil-spring rear suspension featuring either a 5- or 6-foot bed. You can also opt for an XtraCab with a 6-foot bed. The SR5 has twin-tube shocks and 17-inch alloy wheels.

SR

The base-level SR provides a 7-inch digital gauge display and an 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system, covering all the bases where technology is concerned. This trim features a leaf spring rear suspension and 17-inch wheels. The SR is available with a six-speed manual transmission.

Powerful Engine Options

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma comes standard with an i-FORCE 2.4-liter turbocharged engine. This gas-powered engine delivers 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque when paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Pair it with an eight-speed automatic transmission for 278 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque.

The Trailhunter and TRD Pro come standard with an i-FORCE MAX 2.4-liter turbocharged hybrid powertrain. This pairs a four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and 1.87 kWh battery pack. The setup delivers 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque at 1,700 rpm.

The Trailhunter is also equipped with high-mount air intake. The hybrid powertrain is also available in the Limited, TRD Off-Road, and TRD Sport trims.

The 2023 Tacoma offers just 18 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. The miles per gallon of the Toyota TRD Pro and Toyota Trailhunter promised to be much higher thanks to the hybrid engine. Though the official numbers aren’t yet in, Toyota is indicating that you can expect an impressive 27 mpg combined.

Ample Technology and Safety Features

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma comes standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of features that includes:

  • Lane departure alert with steering assist.
  • Pre-collision system with pedestrian detection.
  • Full-speed adaptive cruise control.
  • Automatic high beams.
  • Lane tracing assist.
  • Proactive driving assist.

Additional available safety features include rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring.

The Tacoma features a standard 8-inch or available 14-inch multimedia touch screen equipped with a full audio multimedia system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The lower trims display all your essential information on a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, while higher trims feature an eye-catching 12.3-inch display. The front row has a USB-C data and charging port as well as an available Qi wireless charging pad.

Affordable Price Points

Toyota has not yet released the official MSRP for the Tacoma, but we expect the price to be around $28,000 for the base-level SR. The SR5 and TRD ProRunner should come in around $30,000 with the TRD Sport at $35,000. The TRD Off-Road will likely have a price around $38,000, while the Limited is about $42,000. The Toyota Trailhunter Price should be around $48,000, while the TRD Pro should sit at about $50,000.
