The reinforced unibody of the 2020 Toyota Highlander is available in a variety of trims and comes standard with a 3.5-L V6 engine with a dual overhead cam, and an 8-speed electronically-controlled automatic transmission that makes 295-hp and 263 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, with the option of all-wheel drive. The Highlander gets 21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and has an impressive towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. Rated as an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle III, the Highlander is setting the bar high with its stop-and-start engine system to reduce fuel consumption and cut emissions.
