The Toyota Tundra is a striking full-size truck designed to handle the biggest jobs easily. It’s offered in SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone trim levels. You can choose from two 2025 Toyota Tundra body styles — the extended Double Cab or the spacious CrewMax cab.

Discover the Off-Roading Prowess of the 2025 Toyota Tundra

Every 2025 Tundra truck offers four-wheel drive as standard or as an option. It features a two-speed transfer case and a limited-slip differential. For serious off-road enthusiasts, the Tundra SR5, Limited, Platinum, and 1794 trims are available with the TRD Off-Road Package. To take your wilderness adventures to the next level, opt for the Tundra TRD Pro trim, which comes standard with the mechanical, technological, and design features to tackle any terrain and offer Baja-racing-inspired thrills.

TRD Off-Road Package and TRD Pro

The TRD Off-Road Package includes 18-inch or 20-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, an off-road suspension with Bilstein shocks, and an electronically locking rear differential. Helping you tackle the trails are Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, and Downhill Assist Control. Exterior features include skid plates, mudguards, and a TRD grille and decals. For Limited and 1794 models, the package offers a multiterrain monitor.

For the ultimate off-road experience, the TRD Pro has all the features of the package, along with a TRD Pro off-road-tuned suspension with a 1.1-inch lift, 2.5-inch FOX shocks, rear remote-reservoir shocks, and a front stabilizer bar. You also get a TRD aluminum front skid plate and unique interior and exterior design elements that bring style and function to your adventures.

Powertrain and Performance Enhancements

Toyota’s new i-Force V-6 and i-Force MAX V-6 hybrid powertrains for the Tundra enhance the truck’s performance both on and off the road, providing smooth, instant power.

Tundra Engine Options Optimized for Off-Roading

The Tundra’s base engine is a powerful twin-turbocharged i-Force 3.4-liter V-6 delivering up to 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. Standard in the Tundra TRD Pro and Capstone trims and available for other models is the i-Force MAX, a hybrid powertrain that pairs the same V-6 engine with an electric motor in the transmission. It generates a combined output of 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque.

Transmission and Drivetrain Innovations

Both engine variants are mated to a 10-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence. It features a sequential shift mode and uphill/downhill shift logic for smooth and efficient shifting under harsh conditions. The i-Force MAX hybrid powertrain has a generator with a clutch located in the bell housing between the engine and gearbox, which provides extra power transferred via the transmission.

Suspension and Handling: Built for the Toughest Terrains

Enhancing the Tundra’s ride is independent double-wishbone front suspension and a coil spring multilink rear suspension. The TRD Off-Road package includes specialized Bilstein shocks to help keep you on track. The TRD Pro features a suspension with a forged upper control arm to withstand the toughest conditions, along with 2.5-inch diameter FOX internal bypass shocks and a front stabilizer bar to optimize your ride and provide outstanding off-road performance.

Terrain Management and Driving Modes

With the TRD Off-Road Package and TRD Pro, you get Multi-Terrain Select, which has five different modes to help you navigate tough trails with more control and confidence. Crawl Control is a low-speed off-road cruise control that regulates acceleration and braking, leaving you to concentrate on steering around obstacles. Downhill Assist Control enables you to tackle steep and slippery descents while keeping you in control.

Electronic Features To Enhance Your Off-Road Experience

Standard on the Limited and 1794 models equipped with the TRD Off-Road Package and the TRD Pro is a multiterrain monitor. In demanding off-road situations, you can just push a button, and front, rear, and side camera views are displayed on the 14-inch infotainment touch screen, helping you to avoid hazards. An available panoramic view monitor gives you a top-down view of your vehicle and its surroundings.

Ground Clearance and Underbody Protection

Standard Tundra models offer a minimum ground clearance of 9.4 inches, providing a minimum approach angle of 21 degrees and a departure angle of 24 degrees. With its suspension lift, the TRD Pro increases the approach angle to 26.2 degrees and the departure angle to 24.2 degrees.

Helping to protect the underside of your 2025 Toyota Tundra, the TRD Off-Road Package and TRD Pro model feature high-strength engine, transfer case, and fuel tank undercovers. The TRD Pro also offers a high-strength aluminum front skid plate.

Exterior Design: Functionality Meets Durability

When you want to haul leisure equipment, such as an ATV, motorcycle, or trailer, on your adventures, the Tundra’s got you covered. When properly equipped and configured, it has a towing capacity of up to 12,000 pounds and a maximum payload of 1,940 pounds.

An aluminum-reinforced composite bed resists damage and protects your truck. The easy-to-manipulate tailgate with an available smart switch release makes it a breeze to access the bed. With the available 120-volt power outlet and LED bed lights, you can power up your toys and see what you’re doing when the light fades.
