Halloween is a special time of year, and the Prosper, TX area offers tons of events that are guaranteed to be fun for couples, families, and groups of friends who want to dress up and have a good time. From skating sessions and costume competitions to pub crawls and Halloween goat yoga (yes, it’s definitely a thing!), come to join your Prosper community this Halloween season for some incredible activities.
Fused Glass Halloween Characters
Start the month of October in a Halloween spirit by making some crafts and spooky new decorations in this Oct. 1 workshop from The Craft Guild of Dallas in Carrollton. The workshop accepts students of all levels and provides the glass and all the necessary tools to create your own designs. Each student will get to make a set of four, which you can then proudly display in your home.
Beware! of the Square

Bring your family to downtown Celina on Oct. 22, where the Beware! of the Square event will take place from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to dress up in their most creative Halloween costumes and enjoy fun, child-friendly activities and games, including trick-or-treating and a free Kids’ Zone with obstacle courses and carnival rides. Older children can enjoy the event’s escape room, haunted house, and an outdoor screening of Hotel Transylvania. This is one of the city’s most popular annual festivals, for good reason.
Gypsy Soul Fair
For those of you who want to get in touch with the more spiritual, metaphysical side of Halloween, the Gypsy Soul Fair in the Embassy Suites by Hilton Dallas Frisco Hotel Convention Center is the place to be. Vendors from all around the region gather here to sell mystical items, in addition to palm readings, tarot readings, tea leaf readings, and much more. You can bring your kids with you to fill up their trick-or-treat bags here as well! The event takes place on the weekend of Oct. 29 to Oct. 30.
Family Fright Fest
If you think you can’t make Halloween into an unforgettable experience in the great outdoors around Prosper, think again! Head down to Stewart Creek Park in The Colony on the weekend of Oct. 15 and camp out for the night with your whole family. This cool camping weekend provides visitors a haunted trail, costume contests, a scary movie night, and trick or treating among the tents. Of course, everyone will also get to indulge in s’mores around the campfire. Register for the Family Fright Fest now as there’s limited space and it tends to fill up quickly!
Halloween Costume Goat Yoga
Have you heard of goat yoga? Maybe, but you probably have never heard of Halloween costume goat yoga. Head down to TUPPS Brewery in McKinney on Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. to have a really unique experience.
In addition to starting off your morning with a healthy, relaxing yoga session, you will get to spend some time with goats — in costume. Be sure to dress warmly as the event will be held outside, and that October chill might already be in the air.
Halloween Parents Night Out
For parents who want their kids to have a spooky, fun, but supervised good time, Halloween Parents Night Out is the way to go. On Oct. 29, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Texas Dynamic Gymnastics is hosting a great Halloween night for kids aged 4-12. Dress your kids up in their costumes so they can compete in the costume contest, enjoy a pizza dinner and haunted house, and play plenty of games for a chance to win even more prizes.
Halloween Skate
Get those skates out of the closet, dust them off, and get ready for the Halloween Skate event on Saturday, Oct. 29. This ice skating event takes place at the Allen Community Ice Rink at Credit Union of Texas Event Center over in Allen. Don’t worry if you don’t have skates at home; if you wear a costume, you get a free skate rental. Enjoy a fun day with family or friends while watching witches, ghouls, vampires, and goblins skate around the rink with you.
Halloween Latin Dance Weekender
Turn Halloween into a lively masquerade ball with a full weekend of Latin dance classes in Addison, ending in a Saturday night dance hall event where you will get to show off your new moves. The final event has both a costume and a dance contest, so don’t shy away from showing up in your Halloween outfit. Before that, you will get to take classes from professional international Latin dance teachers. They will show you the steps of the bachata, salsa, zouk, and mambo at the Dallas Dance Studio in Allen. On the final night, some of the area’s best DJs will show up to help you dance the night away in a true Latin masquerade ball!
Dark Hour Haunted House
True Halloween fans will appreciate this intense, extra scary Dark Hour Haunted House experience in Plano. This event — The Coven Awakens — has 13 terrifying witches come together to roam the halls of this creepy house. Known as one of the best haunted houses in the area thanks to the great actors involved and movie-level costumes and decorations, this setting will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a horror movie. Because of the experience’s fright level, organizers recommend leaving children ten and younger at home. The experience starts on Sept. 17th and takes place on select nights until Oct. 31.
However you would prefer to spend this Halloween season, whether camping in the outdoors, skating, or experiencing a frightful haunted house, the Prosper area has a whole slew of events to suit your tastes. If you have been to, or know of, another great Halloween event we didn’t list here, get in touch with us at Longo Toyota of Prosper and share your favorite event.
