We have a multitude of locally and regionally owned ice cream shops that offer ice cream, sherbet, frozen yogurt, milkshakes, frozen custard, malts, milkshakes, Italian ice, gelato, ice cream cakes, and everything in between. Check out our list below of some of our favorite ice cream spots in the community.

Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery

Essentially, if you’re an ice cream and cake lover, this spot is for you. Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery is a national chain that has a locally owned branch in Prosper. This restaurant specializes in producing classic and customized cupcakes of all flavors, but what many don’t know is that it boasts of a tasty ice cream and milkshakes menu — and cupcake ice cream and milkshake menu — as well. You can order a shake made with a cupcake of your choice blended with two scoops of ice cream and topped with whipped cream.

You can also order a cup of Smallcakes’ house-made ice cream with whipped cream and toppings. The option to have a milkshake made with two scoops of ice cream with a smashed cupcake of your choice in the middle is also available. If you’d like, you can order a cupcake filled with an ice cream flavor of your choice. You can order your Smallcakes treat online ahead of time for pickup or delivery or visit the location at 1101 S. Preston Road, Suite 20 in Prosper during the following hours of operation:

  • Monday–Thursday: 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Friday–Saturday: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Sunday: Noon to 6 p.m.

Andy’s Frozen Custard

Andy’s Frozen Custard is a regional ice cream and custard restaurant with a locally owned location in Frisco, which is just a drive from Prosper. Its huge menu includes frozen custard or “concrete,” a “jackhammer,” a “concrete” with a topping inside, ice cream sundaes, ice cream splits, milkshakes, malts, Italian ice, soda floats, and soda freezes. You can build your own frozen treat, choose from an extensive topping menu, and select from different cones for your treats. You can order a strawberry shake, birthday cake shake, chocolate shake, root beer or cream soda freezes, or an old-fashioned soda.

You can also order turtle splits, banana splits, strawberry banana splits, and brownie sundaes. For frozen custard, you can choose from vanilla frozen custard, butter pecan frozen custard, nutty waffle crunch frozen custard, triple chocolate frozen custard, and more. If you’d like, you can build your own concrete, milkshake, malt, sundae, or jackhammer.   • Monday–Thursday, Sunday: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Friday–Saturday: 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Tiff’s Treat

Tiff’s Treats is a regionally owned spot that has something for every frozen sweet treat lover. A designated cookie destination, Tiff’s Treats also features an impressive ice cream menu that has vanilla, chocolate, cookies ‘n’ cream, and mint chocolate chip by the scoop or by the pint for purchase. You can also order a signature Tiffblitz frozen ice cream dessert or a classic Tiffiwich ice cream sandwich, in stores only, with whatever ice cream flavor you’d like.

Those who don’t want ice cream can get banana nut, chocolate chip, chocolate chip pecan, peanut butter, sugar, oatmeal, white chip almond, double chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodle, or oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Brownies, including chocolate fudge and peanut butter chocolate, are available as well. Salted caramel blondies and chocolate chip cookie truffles are available as well. Drinks like chocolate milk, bottled frappuccinos, and soft drinks are available too. You can order your favorite treats online if you’d like or pick up some sweet treats in person at 1070 S. Preston Road, Suite. 10 in Prosper during these hours of operation:

  • Monday–Friday: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Saturday–Sunday: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Menchie’s Windsong Ranch

Menchie’s is a national frozen yogurt “fro-yo” and ice cream chain that has a locally owned branch in Prosper, Menchie’s Windsong Ranch. This family-friendly cold treat spot has something for everyone, including an extensive sweets menu that has gluten-free, nonfat, low fat, and no-sugar-added options. You can choose from a variety of frozen yogurt, tart, and sorbet flavors like original strawberry, vanilla snow, pure chocolate, “takes the cake” batter, “Peppa Pig” cotton candy, “Live From NY” cheesecake, creamy peanut butter, original tart soft-serve pineapple, “I Dream Of” cookies ‘n’ cream, and strawberry shortcake, depending on the season and flavor availability.

You can also order a signature custom Menchie’s fro-yo cake. Visit Menchie’s Windsong Ranch at 4740 W. University, Suite 40 in Prosper or request an order for delivery during the following hours of operation:

  • Monday–Thursday: 1 to 9 p.m.
  • Friday–Sunday: Noon to 9:30 p.m.

Braum’s

Braum’s is another regionally owned ice cream destination that also serves up burgers and fries and has a full-fledged grocery market attached. In terms of ice cream, you can purchase Braum’s brand homemade ice cream pints in-store, but you can also order scoops, soft frozen yogurts, sundaes, milkshakes, splits, malts, mixes, sherbet freezes, cups, and cones to enjoy at any time. You can choose from hand-dipped regular, nonfat, dairy-free, premium, frozen yogurt, no fat, and fat ice cream scoops of all flavors in cones baked in-house in the Braum’s bakery.

Old-fashioned ice cream sundaes, splits, malts, and milkshakes are also available in all flavors. You can also order lime, orange, strawberry, and other sherbet freezes. Mixes include soft-serve chocolate or vanilla frozen yogurt and whatever candy-based toppings you’d like. There are three local Braum’s locations that you can visit, but the most convenient one may be located at 1501 N. Custer Road in McKinney, Texas.
